By downloading the Smartphone Link app, which connects your Garmin Drive to your compatible smartphone, you'll get access to traffic alerts, navigation directions for rerouting, and weather forecasts. As you get closer to your destination, you can view information about prices and available street parking spaces. Additionally, the Smartphone Link app provides access to LiveTrack2, which allows drivers to share their locations. This way, your friends will have the opportunity to watch your movements while traveling around the city or on long trips.

Driver Alerts: Environmental Information

To improve driver safety and awareness of your surroundings, Garmin Drive provides alerts for dangerous curves, speed changes, railroad crossings, and Beware of Animals signs. In addition, the navigator will warn you if you are driving in the wrong direction on a one-way street, as well as when you are near schools and school zones; cameras that record driving through a red traffic light and speed limit violations4.
