Wobbler Fishing Lures

Wobblers are a unique bait that closely resembles live fish; they attract the attention of predators with their shape, color, smell, and, of course, the way they play in the water.

The material for making wobblers can be different - from wood to polymers. Products can be solid or hollow, some models contain noise balls, others have a long-distance casting system. So buying a wobbler for pike will not be difficult: the consultant will be able to tell you which products you should focus on when choosing.

As for the color of wobblers, manufacturers use a wide range of colors. They are not limited to just classic coloring, but can also apply holographic images to the bait. Conventionally, wobblers can be divided into 2 groups:

• painted in natural colors - maximally reminiscent of live fish;
• bright acid color – irritating bait that causes aggression of a predator.

In the recessed front part, wobblers have a blade, which allows the bait to sink to the desired depth and perform various movements in the water. The intensity and frequency of oscillations of the bait depends on the angle at which the blade is installed and what its length is. You also need to know these parameters so that the wobbler you are planning to buy is able to sink to the depth you need: the longer the blade, the deeper the bait can sink. There are varieties without a blade, they can be sinking or surface. They perform oscillatory movements due to the design features of the products.

If you are interested in a wobbler for perch, you need to choose it based on the behavior of this fish. You need to know the characteristics of the reservoir in which you plan to fish, and select bait according to its depth, as well as weather conditions, time of day, etc.

The number of hooks can vary: single, 2-4 tees. For example, for trout fishing, it is advisable to use wobblers with single hooks without barbs; they allow you to avoid injuring the fish. You can buy a wobbler in Ukraine with hooks with an edge made of synthetic or natural materials.
Since there are many varieties of wobblers, it is difficult to classify them according to one or two characteristics. Therefore, there is no classification as such, but some important characteristics can be identified that will affect catchability.

The following types of wobblers differ in shape:

• Crank – a special shape resembling a fish, used to lure pike, can be both surface and sinking;
• Crawler – a curved bait with a transverse blade;
• Darter – an extended model with different depth levels;
• Fat – almost spherical in shape, used in shallow water;
• Jointed – two-part model for trout fishing;
• Minnow – models extended towards the tail;
• Popper – baits with a wide head without a blade;
• Propbait – baits with one or more blades that imitate small fish;
• Rattlin – baits shaped like cicadas;
• Shad – products with increased height;
• Swimbait – baits shaped like perches or small pikes;
• Walker – an elongated product without blades.

According to buoyancy, wobblers are divided into:

• floating - Floating (F);
• sinking - Sinking (S);
• slowly floating - Slow Floating (SF);
• neutral buoyancy - Suspend (SP);
• slowly sinking - Slow Sinking (SS).

As you can see, you can determine by the markings how the wobbler will behave in the water.
