A popper is a surface bladeless wobbler that creates a gurgling sound when inserted. It is easily recognized among other types of bait by its characteristic notch in the front part. Externally, the popper reminds the fish of a toad, a wounded fish or an insect that has fallen into the water and creates a lot of chaotic movements.

Now you can buy a popper in several varieties; it can have 2 tees with a tail. Most often, perch is caught with such a bait; for pike, the plumage on the tees will not be so attractive, however, with the correct wiring, you can count on a richer catch: you may catch not only pike, but also chub, asp, pike perch or ide.

In the store you will be offered to buy a floating or sinking popper. Of course, the vast majority of models on the counter will be from the first group, but the second is also represented by several products; you can pay attention to Creek Chub. They are characterized by long casting. The wiring should be more aggressive, fast with short pauses.

The size of the popper wobbler comes in a fairly wide range. So, the minimum length is 5 cm and weighs only 3-4 g. This bait is enough for catching small perches or pike. Large poppers can reach a weight of 40 g and are hunted for large fish.
As for the color, experienced fishermen advise choosing it based on their personal preferences. The fact is that the fish sees the bait from below, so color has minimal importance for it. But for a fisherman, a bright color is preferable, since it is more noticeable in the water and a person can follow the bait while retrieving it.

Popper wobblers are cone-shaped and can be thick or thin. The former make louder sounds, gurgling and splashing, but the movement of the bait is most often straight. The latter are not so noisy, their advantage is greater mobility, they can actively move from side to side. So a thick popper will bring success when fishing with a big wave, and a thin one - in a standing sluggish and cool one.

Popper requires twitching, which has much in common with twitching minnow wobblers. The fisherman needs to make sharp jerks with the rod, then the popper gurgles and splashes water, this attracts the attention of the fish.

Rybalka.ua consultants will help you choose a popper in accordance with your capabilities, experience, taking into account the season, and the characteristics of the reservoir in which you plan to fish. They will also tell you which type of wiring is most effective in your case.
